John Thomas died from unspecified causes on 28th April, 1915, while serving in France. It is not known if he died from wounds or from illness, both of which took their toll of the men on the Western Front. The 1st King's Royal Rifle Corps battalion of 6 Brigade, 2nd Division had arroived in France at the beginning of the war and during the opening months of 1915 were holding the line around La Bassee. |
